Pest Control FAQ
What kind of pests generally invade households and businesses?
The most common pests found invading residential and commercial buildings in the greater Orange County area are termites, rodents, ants, fleas, cockroaches, spiders, stored product pests, wasps and bees.
Where are all these pests coming from? I keep my house or business clean!?
It is sometimes hard to remember that pests are not invading your home or business just to be annoying. Most insects only come inside when their outside environment becomes less hospitable, such as when the hot summer sun dries out their environment or when rain and cold winter conditions become threatening to their survival. They seek refuge as well as food and nesting areas. As clean as your home or business is, it is not safe from pests seeking a warm, well stocked refuge. You can also introduce them into your home or business by bringing them in with products that you purchase such as food products or dried flower arrangement to name a few.
What are the most common signs of pest infestation??
Unwanted pests living in your home or business may not be noticed right away, but will invariably leave evidence of their presence at some point. Different pests leave different clues, but the most common clues to look for are dropping from mice and rats, wood shavings resembling sand from drywood termites, mud tubes from subterranean termites, and cockroach nests in secluded areas such as cabinets, baseboards and cracks behind sinks, water heaters or door frames.
Where do fleas and bed bugs come from??
Fleas and bed bugs are hitchhikers. This means that someone introduced them to your house from an outside source. In the case of bed bugs this can be a visitor or family member that has recently been in an area that has a bed bug infestation, you can also bring them in with items you purchase, such as at garage sales, etc. Fleas are generally brought in by your pets after they have been in an infested area. However, they can also be brought into your home by hitching a ride on the pant legs, socks, etc. of people. If you suspect you have these, do not delay, call Enviro-Care today at 714-744-1411
